The government gives unemployment allowance to those who are unemployed. Someone can take advantage of the same when unemployed. For this, the government has also started a scheme named 'Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana'. So far, more than 50 thousand people have benefited by joining this scheme. Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is running this scheme. Recently, in view of the Corona pandemic, the validity of 'Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana' has been extended till 30th June 2022. Earlier the plan was valid till 30th June 2021.


What is 'Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana'?

 

Under the 'Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana', an allowance is given to unemployed people to meet necessary requirements of an individual. An unemployed person can take advantage of this allowance for 3 months. For 3 months he can claim 50% of the average salary. After 30 days of becoming unemployed, a claim can be made by joining this scheme.


How to avail the benefit of the scheme?

 

To take advantage of the scheme, the employees associated with ESIC can apply for it by visiting any branch of ESIC. After this, the application is confirmed from ESIC and if it is correct, the amount will be deposited in the account of the employee concerned.


Who can take advantage of the scheme?

 

The company deducts PF / ESI salary every month for those working in the private sector. Such employed people can take advantage of the scheme when they become unemployed. The benefit of ESI is available to the employees working in private companies, and factories. For this, an ESI card has been issued. Employees can take advantage of the scheme on the basis of this card or the document brought from the company.

 

The ESI benefit is available to employees whose monthly income is INR 21,000 or less. However, in the case of Divyangjan, the income limit is INR 25000. The contribution period should be at least 78 days to avail of the benefits of the plan. However, the benefit of the scheme will be available only if someone remains unemployed for 3 months. Any unemployed person can take advantage of Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana only once in his life.


How to register for 'Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana'?

 
  1. To take advantage of the scheme, download the Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana form- esic.nic.in.

  2. Fill the form and proceed to submit it to the branch of Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

  3. Along with the form, the notary's affidavit on the non-judicial stamp paper of Rs 20 is also needed to be affixed.

  4. In this form, AB-1 to AB-4 needs to be submitted.

  5. Someone can’t get benefits if a job is lost due to a wrong code of conduct.

Someone removed from an organization due to wrong conduct will not get the benefit of the scheme. Apart from this, employees who have a registered criminal case or have taken Voluntary Retirement (VRS) will also not be able to take advantage of the scheme.
