UPSC CMS 2024: The Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) 2024 Registration was posted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today, 10 Apri, on the official upsc.gov.in website.
Eligible candidates can apply for the exam till 30 April, 2024 (6 p.m.) by visiting the official website i.e. upsconline.nic.in.
The correction window for applications will be available from 1 May to 7 May. The aim of the exam is to hire 827 medical officers for various government departments.
UPSC CMS 2024: Vacancy breakdown
- 163 positions for Medical Officers Grade in the General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Service under Category-I.
- Under Category-II, there are 450 positions for Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways, 14 positions for General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council.
- and, 200 positions for General Duty Medical Officer Gr-II in Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
UPSC CMS 2024: Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit:
- Candidates need to be older than 32 years as of 1 August, 2024, except for Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Services, where the upper age limit is 35 years.
- Upper age relaxation is applicable only for candidates belonging to the reserved categories.
- Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have passed both the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination, in order to get permission to sit for CMS examination.
UPSC CMS 2024: Selection Scheme
Written Exam:
- The UPSC CMS 2024 exam will is conducted in two phases.
- Phase I involves a written exam having a total of 500 marks.
- The written exam consists of two Papers, each Paper consisting a maximum of 250 marks.
- Each Paper will be of a duration of two hours.
- Personality Test:
- Phase II includes a Personality Test worth 100 Marks.
- The Personality Test is conducted for candidates who qualify based on the results of the written examination.
UPSC CMS 2024: Application Fee
- The application fee for UPSC CMS 2024 is Rs 200.
- However, female candidates, SC/ST candidates, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from paying the fee.

- Then go to ‘OTR for examinations of UPSC and online application’ displayed on the homepage and click on the apply link.
- Fill the registration form, pay the application fee and upload required documents
- Don’t forget selecting exam centre and then submit your form.
