BJP government on Wednesday said all vacant posts in schools would be filled before the next academic session following the process of rationalisation of teachers and students' admissions.
Replying to a question by BJP MLA Shimla Bawari in Rajasthan Assembly, the Minister of State for Education Vasudev Devnani said there would be one school in each Gram Panchayat from class one to class twelfth with the required teaching faculty as part of the rationalisation.
The rationalisation is aimed at ensuring an appropriate students-teacher ratio in schools.
Blaming the previous Congress government for the downfall in primary education, Devnani said when the BJP government came to power in 2013 there were 47 per cent vacant posts in schools.
As part of the recruitment drive started by the BJP, MoS said 21900 teachers have been posted till now, and the remaining 12 per cent posts will be filled up before the next academic session in all schools.
In past one year, the state government was working on promoting 5000 secondary schools to senior secondary schools, the minister said, adding, it was a historic decision.
In March, 4010 posts of teachers would be filled up through RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission), and about 8400 teachers would go through Departmental Promotion Scheme (DPC), MoS said.

Similarly, 1700 principals would be posted after due DPC in schools, he added.
Replying to a question by BJP MLA Sandeep Sharma, Local Self Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat told the House that Street Vendor Act would be implemented in the state.
A request for proposals for survey of street vendors has been sent to 40 cities having a population of more than one lakh. Of which, proposals from 22 cities have come, and now a socio-economic survey would be launched and the street vendors would be provided with biometric cards, Shekhawat said.
Rajasthan would prepare a comprehensive plan for street vendors in non-restricted, restricted and partial vending, he said, adding, the rules on the Rajasthan Urban Street Vendors (Protection of livelihood and regulation of street vending) would be framed after the survey and setting up of committees in the cities.

On a question related to power bills, MoS for Energy Pushpendra Singh assured the House if excess billing was made on specific horsepower meters, refunds would be made to farmers, and the erring employees of Power Corporations would be dealt with sternly.
He was replying to BJP MLA Rao Rajendra Singh who questioned the role of DISCOMs in collecting service tax and the excess recoveries from farmers by violation of Power acts.
