UGC NET 2017: CBSE to Release Official Notification On August 4

UGC NET November notification is due to release by the Central Board of Education (CBSE).

The board scheduled to release the official notification on July 24, 2017.

The reason for delay was the board fell short on the timeline.

An update for University Grant Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) on official websites shows the notice will release on August 4, 2017.

The exam date was preponed to November 5 from November 19, 2017.

The exam will be conducted by CBSE.

According to the website, the online application for UGC NET 2017 will start from August 11, 2017. The deadline to pay application fee is August 31, 2017.

NET is the national level test to determine eligibility for college and university level lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship for Indian nationals, while States Eligibility Test (SET) is a state level test accredited by UGC for eligibility for Assistant Professors.

Other facts such as selection process and eligibility criteria will remain the same.

UGC NET not only qualifies a candidate for assistant professorship but also to become a pre-requisite for enrolment to a PhD programme.

CBSE has also made Aadhaar card mandatory for the applicants.

Whereas, applicants from Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya, should have a valid UID in order to apply for the exam.
