Gone are the days when a graduation degree course certificate was sufficient to fetch you a job. 
   
With escalating cut-throat competition in the job market, landing a job without updated training via professional course is very difficult nowadays. Graduation degree along with professional development is the need of the hour.
 
The trend of pursuing a professional and traditional course at the same time is mushrooming among students. To check out the ground reality, My Result Plus visited Delhi University north campus and talked to students of different courses.

Name: Udit Maheshwari 
Course: BCom (Program)/ Aviation Diploma Course 
University: Delhi University 

Why did you opt for BCom (Programme) in Delhi University and also pursuing Aviation Diploma Course simultaneously?
I don’t think that only simple graduation degree certificate will fetch me a job with fat pay perk. That is why I am also pursuing the Aviation Diploma Course from Frankfinn Institute. I consulted with my seniors and my family members. They told me that only plain graduation degree will not fetch you a job. There are many advantages to pursuing professional courses. A professional course syllabus is designed as per the industry requirement. And students who pursue a professional course get a job easily. 

Why did you take up Aviation Diploma Course?
Earlier, I wanted to be a pilot. But I didn’t want to pursue Science at my plus two so left the dream of becoming pilot. I want to work in the cabin crew. Once I finish the diploma course, the institute will arrange the interview and also guide how to appear for the interview. 

Where do you see yourself after completion of the course?
After completing my aviation course, I will work with the cabin crew. Both my graduation degree course and the aviation course will simultaneously complete at the same time.  

Is it your plan b or primary plan?
I tried for CA but failed to continue with it. It was a little hard for me. Then I joined the aviation course.

Course: B Com (Program)/ Preparing for Bank Exam

Why did you opt for B Com (Program) in Delhi University?
My ambition is to crack IBPS exam and get a job in the banking sector. Apart from pursuing BCom, I am also preparing for Bank PO exam side by side. I am pursuing BCom because it will make me eligible to appear for the bank exam.    

Why did you take up commerce subject?
BCom graduates are eligible are eligible to appear for any government competitive exam. Whether it UPSC exam or IBPS. I commerce student can become a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, Insurance agent, Stock Broking and Investment Analyst. Banking job is safe for girls. I got the inspiration from my father and opted for it (Commerce subject). 

Where do you see yourself after completion of the course?
I want to see myself working within a reputed bank. Therefore, I am preparing myself for the dream job. I am trying my level best to achieve my goal in life. 

Is it your plan b or primary plan?
No.  I took up commerce stream. Then my father suggested me to prepare for Bank PO exam.

Course: MA in Sanskrit

Why did you opt for MA in Sanskrit in Delhi University?
I always wanted to study Sanskrit. The zeal for learning the Sanskrit language brought me to Delhi University. 

Why did you take up this subject?
The interest in learning Sanskrit started when I was in school. One of my cousins took Sanskrit. He is my idol. He has guided me when and where to apply for Sanskrit at the masters level. Frankly speaking, more and more students should take up Sanskrit language to revive the dying traditional language of India.  

Where do you see yourself after completion of the course?
After completing an MA in Sanskrit, I will teach students. Nowadays, students are more interested in learning the English language. I am not against it. But we should also be interested in learning the Sanskrit language.  

What do you want to become?
I want to become a Sanskrit professor. I want to spread awareness among students about the importance of Sanskrit language in India and abroad. To make this dream a reality, I will teach the Sanskrit language. 

Is it your plan b or primary plan?
Of course, it's my primary plan. I can’t live without Sanskrit. Since my school days, I had a flair for learning the Sanskrit language.

Why did you leave your city and opted for Sanskrit in Delhi University?
Well, it's an interesting question. The culture of learning Sanskrit is dying. I want to present the Sanskrit language in the same way the English language is the most spoken and popular language around the world.

Why did you take up this subject?
If you take up Sanskrit as an optional subject for UPSC exam then it is very scoring.  Sanskrit language as an optional subject is always scoring for any competitive exam. 

Where do you see yourself after completion of the course?
After completing the course, I want to become an IAS officer. Then I will open free Sankrit Kendra. So that all people irrespective of caste, creed and religion can learn Sanskrit without paying a single penny. 

What do you want to become?
I want to become an IAS officer because it is the bureaucrats who run the country. I want to serve the country.

Why did you opt for B Com (Program) from Delhi University?
I want to do business. It is the best option for me. I pursued this course to learn the art of doing business. 
A BCom degree is structured to provide the students with managerial skills in disciplines related to commerce. Also, by the end of the program, students gain an in-depth knowledge of core subjects like accounting, law, statistics, finance and marketing. 

Who inspired you to take up this subject?
My friend’s father inspired me inspired me to pursue Commerce. To run my family Business, I need to have business skills. I have learned those skills while pursuing the course. 

What do you want to become?
In my opinion, owning and running your own business can be more satisfying and fulfilling than working for someone else.
