Jamia admission 2018 - PC : New Indian Express
With National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2017 placing Jamia Millia Islamia at 12th position among the varsities across the country, has emerged as the highly sought-after universities.

The popularity of Jamia’s courses is increasing and so are the numbers of students who want to study there.

If media reports are to be believed then JMI is also planning to increase the number of seats in the University and upgrade a host of other facilities.

My Result Plus visited Jamia campus to find out why students are leaving their hometown to pursue different courses here.

Check out the reasons below.

Name: Gulam Simnani
Course: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia
Hometown: Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh

Why did you leave your city and opted for Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi?
Jamia Millia Islamia has quality. It is free from discrimination in terms of caste and creed.  If you go to other states, a mentality of the students are different but not in the national capital. This is why Jamia Millia Islamia is my first preference.

Why did you take up this subject?
I decided to pursue a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia because it’s a four-year course comprising eight semesters. The classes are conducted in the evening.

Where do you see yourself after completion of the course?
After completion of the course, I want to see myself at a higher level (hierarchy) in the corporate world. I think I will launch the innovative idea to develop it as the mechanical engineer. At this point in time, engineers are doing their duty as 9 to 5 pm job but not investing their energy and effort to innovate anything.
Innovation in the field of engineering is the need of the hour in India.

What do you want to become?
I want to become a mechanical engineer. I opted for this course because I want to create something innovative. I want to launch a new thing for the betterment of the society. For example, Maruti Suzuki manufactures is the number one company in India because it offers automobile parts at cheaper rates.

Is it your plan b or primary plan?
I always wanted to become an engineer.

Your future career plans?
After completion of the Mechanical Engineering diploma course, I will pursue graduation. The degree course is important along with the diploma course.
