Raising voice against the ban of Jallikattu, a group of IIT students held a silent protest at their campus in Mumbai on Thursday.
The protest comes three days after youths staged demonstration at Chennai’s Marina beach in support of the sport in which bulls participate.
“Students here are from all streams and courses ofIIT-B. They come from various parts of the country and are not just Tamilians,”said a student.
While the silent protest started at 9 am and continued till 5.30pm, the Supreme Court had struck down Tamil Nadu’s request to lift the ban on Jallikattu.
