Three new courses in the Defense and Strategic Studies Department has been started in Savitribai Phule Pune University, as per Times of India’s latest report.
Through the celebration of the Surgical Strike Day program organized by the university, the courses were unveiled.
The courses will run for the duration of one year. The programmes include Disaster Management and National Security, diploma in Counter-Terrorism Studies and Diploma in Defense Analysis and National Security.
All three diplomas are for the Postgraduation.
Vijay Khare, Director, Yashwantrao Chavan National Centre of International Security and Defense Analysis (YC-NISDA) said the courses are specially designed to help the students who have done their post-graduation in International Relations, Political Science, or any other course to get jobs.
Such students can apply for the courses.
Offering undergraduate courses on Military Studies, the Department of Defense and Strategic Studies (DDSS) was established in 1963 as Department of Military Studies.
The DDSS currently offers many courses such as MA/MSc In Defence and Strategic Studies, M Phil. And Ph.D. in Defence and Strategic Studies. According to the official website, for all the courses semester and credit pattern is followed.
On the campus of the Savitribai Phule Pune University in the Multidisciplinary area of strategic and national security affairs, YC-NISDA was found to establish a globally recognized research, teaching, and training center.
