Minister of State for Personnel and Public Grievances Jitendra Singh, informed the house (Rajya Sabha) last week, during the Question Hour that to ensure transparent in the process, the registrations for all the competitive entrance examinations held by UPSC has been made 100 per cent online.
According to PTI, minister further said that the efforts were also being made to take online registration for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to 100 per cent from the present 95 per cent. Replying to supplementaries, he said that the government had initiated a series of reforms during the past 18-20 months regarding online registrations for competitive examinations.
He said there has not been a single grievance in connection with online registrations for UPSC, while Deputy Commissioners have been directed to take adequate measures in case of complaints from candidates to check any difficulty faced by candidates registering for SSC exams.
"Online registration procedure has been initiated to bring in transparency in the process of selection, to provide level playing field to all candidates and to simplify the procedure," Singh said.
Earlier on a question on the efficacy of the online system, Singh replied that when in a city like Delhi the internet system did not work properly how would it function in remote areas. He also urged the government to solve the problems of candidates residing in far-flung areas.
