Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2017-18: Last date to apply is November 15

Applications are invited for Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2017-18 by Kendriya Sainik Board Secretariat, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.

The applications are invited from dependent wards of Ex-Servicemen and Ex-Coast Guard personnel and widows (below officer rank only), who are studying in the first year of technical and professional courses for Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2017-18. 

Only two wards of Ex-Servicemen can apply for the Scholarship. 

Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must -
- Have taken admission to a technical or professional (diploma/graduation) course in 2017. 
- Have passed class XII/graduation/diploma courses (minimum educational qualification) with 60% marks and above. 
- Be a dependent ward/widow of Ex-Servicemen and Ex-Coast Guard personnel who died in harness/was disabled during coast guard service/ military service. 
- Not be a civilian or ward of Para Military Personnel. 

Awards Details 
A total of 5500 scholarships are disbursed under Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme every year that is divided equally amongst both boys and girls.
The amount of scholarship received by students is:
For Boys - Rs 2,000 per month 
For Girls - Rs 2,250 per month
