NCERT Book row: Firms blacklisted from supplying Science, Maths kits

Two months after National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) text books were made  mandatory for CBSE affiliated schools, an official order on Wednesday pointed out that the council has blacklisted two firms from supplying Science and Maths kits.

In February, the Central Board of Secondary Education issued a notification mentioning that NCERT text books will be mandatory for CBSE affiliated schools for the academic session 2017-18.

While the decision was taken by HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar during a review meeting, CBSE affiliated schools have been instructed to order NCERT textbooks via www.cbse.in.
The circular, issued CBSE, pointed out that link for online indent will be available until February 22, 2017.
Step to raise online indent
Schools should log on to www.cbse.in.
Schools should login using existing credentials at the newly created link available on the CBSE’s official website
Discounts will be available as per NCERT policy.
