Navy Day: Why We Celebrate It on 4th December
Navy Day
On December 4, 1971, during the war with Pakistan, our navy drowned three of their three ships on the Karachi port under Operation Trident. More than 500 Marine Soldiers of Pakistan were killed in this war.

Naval missile boats were used for the first time in this operation. In memory of this successful campaign, every year on December 4, it is celebrated as a Navy Day.

Power with strength
- The motto of Navy is Sha Na Varuna. It means that Varuna is the God of water, be nice to us.

- Since independence, the Navy has consistently increased its powers. Our battleships and missiles can distinguish targets on the ocean, above sea and sea surface.

- Navy is always ahead of not only protecting shores but also in preparing new technology and relief work during a disaster.

- First of all, the Navy has started the principle of Make in India in all the three armies. Navy has more indigenous fighting equipment than the Army and Air Force.

- Indian Navy manoeuvres with Australia, Brazil, South Africa, France, Indonesia, Myanmar, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, UK, USA and Japan.

- Malabar manoeuvres performed in the South China Sea in July this year with Japan and the United States blew up China's sleep It symbolizes the power of the Indian Navy.

Fleet of ships
- The Indian Navy has extended itself in all directions since its establishment.

- At the beginning of World War II, the Navy had only eight warships today; the Navy has a warship carrying INS Vikramaditya to fight fighter aircraft.

- There are 11 other destroyers, 14 frigates, 24 fighter jets, 29 guard ships, 13 nuclear submarines, 13 other submarines and a large number of other ships.

Operation Trident
- Operation Trident had been planned under the leadership of Navy Chief Admiral SM Nanda. Trident means 'trident' Trishul means the destroyer weapon of Shiva.

- The responsibility of this task was given to Babur Bhan Yadav, commander of 25th Squadron. On December 4, 1971, the Navy first attacked Pakistan Navy Headquarters in Karachi.

- Many ships, including the ammunition supply ship, were destroyed.

Meanwhile, the oil tanker of Pakistan was also devastated. For the first time in this war, the ship was attacked with the anti-ship missile.

PNS Ghazi's entry into Indian waterside
Meanwhile, the submarine of the Indian Navy got a signal from Sonar on the Indian waterside of a submarine of Pakistan, whose name was 'Ghazi'. The name in which it was tracked was 'Kali Devi'.

Vice Admiral Nilkant Krishnan of Eastern Naval Command believed that the motive behind deploying this Submarine in the Bay of Bengal was to destroy INS Vikrant.

Inspecting the danger, INS Vikrant was immediately dispatched to Andaman Nicobar and its replacement, INS Rajput, was retired.

This entire mission was named Port X-ray. Meanwhile, Ghazi had to appear on the sea surface for oxygen and it was seen on the radar of INS Rajput.

After this, there was a rift between the present Indian submarine INS Kananj and Ghazi, in which Ghazi was destroyed.

Counter China
India, fighting the domination of China in the Indian Ocean, is still behind China in the naval power, but it is gathering its strength to accelerate. In China, Sri Lanka, Myanmar ports, China is building a string of Pearl under strategic tactics. China intends to encompass India through this step.

Knowing this intention of China, India has also agreed to develop a port on Indonesia's Sabang Island, including developing Chabar Port in Iran.
