Eminent professors from Vietnam, including, Dr Tran Van Phong, Dr Do Lan Hien, Dr Nguyen Thi ha and Nguyen VanCo participated in the discussion and put forward the issues of religion and ethnicity in defining nationhood in Vietnam.
Discussions focussed on issues of human right violation while bounding the nation with the dominant religion and ethnicity.
A large number of students participated in the discussion and updated the Vietnamese intellectuals about the Indian situation on these issues.
Programme coordinator, Dr Arvind Kumar, and Dr Sonu Trivedi from Zakir Hussain College of Delhi University presented the Indian scenario and how it becomes complicated when it comes to making it inclusive of the minorities.
Prashant Negi spoke about his ongoing research relating religion and ethnicity in the upper Himalayas. Professors and students from CSSEIP, K R Narayanan Centre of Dalit and Minorities Studies and from other departments and centres of JMI participated in large numbers.
