In a first, the Delhi University will translate and publish world classics of foreign countries in Hindi language, the varsity announced today.
The first-of-its-kind initiative, according to the university, was taken to widen students' understanding of global thought.
"The initiative aims to strengthen bilateral, social and cultural ties further. This would make our citizens and students aware of these classics and would widen their understanding of global thought," Registrar Tarun Kumar Das said.
A committee has been constituted to look after the initiative, he added.
