DU’s Khalsa College, Teaching Learning Centre to be National Resource Centre of Chemistry by MHRD

Guru Angad Dev Teaching Learning Centre (GAD-TLC) of MHRD at SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi has been selected as the National Resource Centre (NRC) of Chemistry by the MHRD.

The mandate of this NRC is to conduct Annual Refresher Programme for all the chemistry teachers of universities and colleges of India irrespective of their seniority.

This programme will be conducted online through SWAYAM platform of MHRD and thus help in preparing Modern Age Teachers to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The MHRD has recently selected 75 National Resource Centres in 75 disciplines across the country for the online professional development of teachers in these disciplines.

GAD-TLC, a TLC of the MHRD created under Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) scheme of the MHRD has already been working on the empowerment of teachers in pedagogy and ICT skills.

More than 4000 teachers have already been trained by GAD-TLC.

Expressing happiness over the selection as NRC, A K Bakhshi, Chairman, GAD-TLC and Vice-Chancellor PDM University, Haryana said that it is a great initiative on the part of MHRD.

Knowledge is growing very fast in all disciplines and therefore all teachers need to be updated in the latest developments in their disciplines, pedagogical improvements and methodologies for transacting their curricula.

Jaswinder Singh, Director GAD-TLC and Principal SGTB Khalsa College thanked the MHRD for reposing trust in us and said that we as a team would work hard to fulfill the expectations of the MHRD.

We have necessary technical expertise and studio facilities for the same. We have already developed 42 MOOCs for SWAYAM platform.
