Combination of Healthcare Professionals and Architects in 'Confluence18' at Jamia

Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics, JMI in collaboration with Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital is organizing first of its kind symposium which will have the amalgamation of Healthcare Professionals and Architects.

This will be their first Healthcare Architecture Symposium: “Confluence18’ on October 13, 2018. Students, professionals, and academicians from all over the nation are welcome to this symposium.

The main objective of this National Symposium is to bridge that gap between the architecture, healthcare and engineering world.

Prof SM Akhtar, HoD, Department of Architecture envisioned the need of this specialized amalgamation more than a decade back when he realized the need of interaction between architects and doctors to understand and supplement requirements of each other.

“Architecture-based Healthcare planning has become the gold standard. Comfort, Compliance, Consistency, Cure, Control, Consensus & Concordance matters in its design”, shares Anshuman Kumar, Director, Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Delhi, who will be the Guest at the national conclave.

The dais will also welcome Ar Rang Emei, Principal Architect, Helix Healthcare Architecture as their Chief Guest, along with six other eminent speakers & fourteen dignified members for the panel discussion, to share their knowledge and experience, aiming to draw comprehensive recommendations for a healthier society.

“Given the multidisciplinary nature and changing requirements of the healthcare industry, 'Confluence 18' attempts to bring on board architecture and healthcare experts to deliberate on some of the pressing challenges and possible implementable solutions, specifically to Indian context which demands solutions for diversity and affordability”, says Prof Hina Zia, Dean, FOAE, JMI.

This event will provide a forum for stakeholders from all over the nation, who, otherwise, are unable to come together to discuss these issues in depth and at length.

Also, Jamia hosted the 7th meeting of Subject Expert Committee (SEC) on Engineering and Technology, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India (GoI).

The meeting was held from October 8-9, 2018 at Dayar-i Mir Taqi Mir, JMI.

The meeting showcased presentations on new proposals as well as ongoing projects in the presence of committee members.
Prof. Zahid Ashraf (FNASc), Director-Academics, JMI, and Dr. Vandana Singh, Scientists at DST were the organizers of the meeting.
 
The Women Scientist Scheme-A (WOS-A) of Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India is a powerful platform provided to women scientists who could not continue their research work due to family engagements.
