Online Anti Ragging Undertaking update: With the college/university admission season just around the corner, Anti Ragging Undertaking is a must for students to prevent eve-teasing and other prohibited activities on the campus.

 
Spreading awareness about Ragging prevention guidelines, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed universities and higher educational institutions to organise brochure campus at the beginning of the new session.

UGC secretary Prof Rajnish Jain has written a letter to the chief secretaries of all the states and the vice-chancellors of 750 universities.  It is mandatory to apply UGC rules in other higher education institutions, including Central, State, Private, Deemed-to-Be University.

The decision comes nearly two years after an MBBS first-year student from Tinsukia was allegedly tortured by four students of the fifth semester of the college.

A student of the Tezpur Medical College was rusticated for six months and three others were expelled from the hostel for alleged ragging.
