In the three states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram, on December 11, the results of the election are eagerly awaited.

At the time of voting apart from the candidates the officers of the state are also present.

Whenever the counting of votes begins, first the electronic voting machines (EVM) are examined which is done by the counting staff and agents.


Once the Machines are checked thoroughly, EVM votes counting starts after half an hour.

The job of the returning officer is to stop it for at least two minutes after every round.

The aim of prevention is to re-count the vote with its agents. But this happens occasionally.


After completing full procedure and thorough examination, the returning officer gets permission to issue results.

The Returning Officer does not directly declare the results to the public but conveys the results to the Election Commission and the appropriate authority.
