Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday called for providing higher education opportuities in all sectors to tap the massive youth power of the country.
Addressing a conference of state universities' Vice-Chancellors here, Akhilesh said the number of youth in the country was so high, and stressed on the need for their inclusive development, especially through educational institutions.
The Chief Minister issued directives for setting up a design university, and agreed to providing grants to Bhathande Music University and establishing another campus.
Akhilesh agreed to providing grants for preserving the historical building of Sanskrit University and asked officials to conduct review for strengthening it.
He also directed for setting up state level accredition council for maintaining standard in institutions.
Earlier in his address, Governor B L Joshi stressed on the need for conducting examinations and announcing results as per the time table.
Though there had been improvement, Joshi said it was the duty of the universities to conduct examinations as per schedule and issue degrees, and called for maintaining discipline.
