Raju to lay foundation stone of NIT in Arunachal
Union Human Resources Development Minister M M Pallam Raju is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT) on February 10 at Jote, near here.

 Official sources said today that Raju, who had accepted the invitation of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki to accomplish the unfinished job of his predecessor Kapil Sibal on November 29 last year, has consented to visit Itanagar for the purpose.

 With the central government determined to create scope for higher studies, particularly technical and medical education, the union minister during his maiden visit is expected to take stock of the present education scenario of the state during a high level meeting with the Chief Minister, Education Minister Bosiram Siram, commissioner Ganesh Koyu and directors.

 Tuki had sought Centres special focus for development of infrastructure in the states education sector during his earlier meeting with Raju.

 He had pleaded for special packages for Rajiv Gandhi University and other upcoming universities, and release of central grant regularly for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan to ensure timely payment of salaries to the teachers.

After being apprised of various drawbacks and problems, Raju had assured, There will be no shortfall from my ministry and development of education scenario of Arunachal Pradesh would continue in an accelerated pace with hundred percent assistance for meaningful human resources development while taking care of welfare of teachers and employees.
