In a bid to tap entrepreneurs and enhance their skills, country's premier B-School, the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C), will assist the West Bengal government to impart training to select candidates, a release said Tuesday.
According to the statement, the state government's department of micro and small scale enterprises and textiles will collaborate with IIM-C to help select and train around 1000 entrepreneurs starting next year.
District Industrial Centres (DICs) under the department will screen and zero-in on the prospective candidates, who will be schooled at IIM-C.
An agreement was signed by MSSET and IIM-C in presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee earlier this month to further the initiative.
