The All India Council for Technical Education will soon open a regional campus here to meet the needs of technical institutions in Kerala.
AICTE sources said Kerala affairs, now being looked after by a temporary office at the College of Engineering and Technology, will be shifted to the the new office, which would act as a guidance centre for over 300 technical institutions in the state.
As technical institutions required to get AICTE approval every year, a centre had to be set up as a guidance centre for these institutions, the sources said.
The state has a total of 321 technical institutions, including 150 engineering colleges, 80 MBA institutes and institutions offering ploytechnic, hotel management and pharmacy education.
