Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE)
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Pune is the board which conducts the examination of Secondary as well as Higher Secondary in the state and responsible for conducting the exam and then publishing the results on time. Board is having intention to give the fine education in the state of Maharashtra. The act was amended in 1976 and the name of the Board changed to its present name - The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

The most prominent task of the board is to conduct the SSC and HSC examinations. The exams are conducted throughout the state of Maharashtra, and students studying in the Government-run High Schools are required to give this examination for further Secondary Education, for which the admission is given on the basis on merit.

The publication of textbooks for the languages of grades 9th and 10th is done by the Board itself. For the language textbooks of grades 11th and 12th, the publication is done by the board as well as by other private or government publications with a mandatory license from the Board.
