Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today announced scholarships to be given to meritorious girl students from minority communities, who score above sixty per cent marks in examinations.
The announcement formed part of his message to the people of the state on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.Greeting people of the state on the eve of the festival, Bahuguna said meritorious girl students from minority communities who score above sixty per cent marks in their examinations will get Rs 15,000 as scholarship for school education and Rs 25,000 for higher education.
96 madarsas are being registered in Uttarakhand so that their students could avail of facilities like mid-day meal, he said.
Efforts are also under way to build boundary walls around burial grounds in the state besides constructing a room fitted with water and electricity connections inside each one of them, he added.
