Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) said 13 of its boys and girls been selected for the junior and senior Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students.
They would receive Rs.16,000 and Rs.18,000, respectively, for three years from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
In addition, Rs.50,000 per year would be given to them as financial assistance.
Students of the institute performed significantly better than students of other universities in the national-level online test, it said.
Located in Bhubaneswar, the institute is home to over 20,000 tribal students who receive free educational and vocational training from kindergarten (KG) to post-graduate (PG) level.
