Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Uttar Pradesh, India's biggest medical examination, provides admission to the candidates in various courses in the colleges of the state on the basis of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG. The candidates must note that the National Testing Agency (NTA) had conducted NEET 2021 on September 12 in pen and paper-based mode. Now soon the results of the undergraduate medical examination will be declared on the official neet.nta.nic.in.
The candidates must note that on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in NEET 2021, admission will be given to 7528 MBBS seats in Uttar Pradesh. Qualified candidates are advised to read below the UP Medical Admission process and cut-off details.
Admission Eligibility
- The candidate’s minimum age should be 17 years as of 31st December 2021.
- For admission to UP medical colleges, it is mandatory for the candidates to have a domicile of the state.
- If an applicant has completed class 10th and 12th from schools located in the state, then they need not provide their domicile certificate. On the other hand, if a candidate has completed class 10th and 12th outside the state, then they have to submit their original domicile certificate.
- Candidates must have passed class 12th with 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English subjects. While it is mandatory for reserved category candidates to have passed class 12th with 40 per cent marks. Persons with Disabilities (PWD) need to obtain at least 45 per cent marks.
- To participate in the UP medical admission process, candidates need to appear and qualify for NEET-UG 2021 to score the minimum required percentile.
Admission Process
UP Medical admission process will be conducted by DMET, Lucknow. Through this process, applicants will be admitted to 85 per cent state quota seats and 100 per cent private college seats. A total of three rounds of UP NEET counselling will be conducted including a mop-up round for vacant seats. The process of UP Medical Admission is mentioned below.
- The counselling will be conducted in online mode at upneet.gov.in.
- During the counselling session, students will be asked to submit their preferences of colleges and courses.
- Based on the choices filled, seats will be allotted to the eligible candidates based on the state merit rank, NEET score, reservation and other factors.
- UP NEET seat allotment list will be released after each round of counselling.
- Students who will be allotted seats will have to report to the allotted institute to complete the admission process.
