JoSAA Counselling 2023: JoSAA Counselling is currently underway for a total of 57,182 seats in 116 institutes, including IITs and NITs across the country. Students can complete their online reporting until 5 pm on July 10, following the second round of seat allotment. In case any student's uploaded documents are found to be lacking, they must respond to the query by 5 pm on July 11, otherwise their seat will be cancelled.
JoSAA Counselling 2023 Going on in 116 Institutes
According to career counselling expert Amit Ahuja, in the second round of JoSAA counselling seat allotment, a student ranked 946,894 from the gender-neutral pool quota has been allotted the Electronics and Communication branch from the home state quota at NIT Mizoram under the open category. Additionally, the closing rank for the IIT from the gender-neutral pool quota was 16,186, specifically for the Interdisciplinary Science branch at IIT Dharwad.
On the other hand, a female student with a rank of 1,057,910, including super numerical seats from the female pool quota, has been allotted the Electrical Branch from the home state quota at NIT Mizoram under the open category. Furthermore, the closing rank for the IIT from the female pool quota was 24,708, specifically for the Intra-disciplinary Science branch at Dharwad.
JoSAA Counselling 2023: Dual Verification
According to Ahuja, the documents uploaded in the first round of seat allotment will be re-verified for the students who have been allotted seats from IITs to NITs and NITs to IITs in the second round. Once the verification is complete, the newly allotted seat will be confirmed.
On the other hand, students who have already been allotted seats and have opted for float and slide will be allotted seats from IITs to IITs and NITs to NITs in the second round, based on their previously verified documents. These students do not need to upload documents again during online reporting. They can participate in further counselling by changing the float option to slide and the freeze and slide option to freeze in each round of counselling. It is important to note that these students cannot claim a new seat in addition to the one allotted to them in the first round.
