TOEFL Now Accepted for Admission in Canadian Institutions
The SDS programme offers an expedited study permit processing programme for international students who intend to enroll in one of Canada's post-secondary designated learning institutions. With the inclusion of the TOEFL test, students now have an additional language proficiency assessment option to demonstrate their English language skills for admission.
The Educational Testing Service (ETS), the organization responsible for administering the TOEFL test, confirmed the acceptance of TOEFL scores by over 12,000 institutions in more than 160 countries. This widespread acceptance highlights the credibility and recognition of the TOEFL test worldwide, making it a preferred choice for many international students seeking admission to Canadian institutions.
The approval of the TOEFL by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) demonstrates the government's commitment to facilitating the international student experience in Canada. Starting August 10, students can now include their TOEFL iBT scores as part of their SDS application, streamlining the process and enabling a smoother transition into Canadian institutions.
