In a new method to spread awareness among the people about development schemes, the state government has asked schools in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district to entrust a student with the task of telling the rest of the students about one development or welfare scheme each day during the prayer assembly.
Development and welfare schemes being run by the state government in the district have been compiled in the form of a book and sent to all government and private schools through the Chief Education Officer with an instruction that one student every day will be assigned the job of telling the rest of the students about one development or welfare scheme during the prayer assembly, Chamoli''s District Magistrate Vinod Kumar Suman said.
It will ensure that benefits of the schemes reach their beneficiaries and the schemes achieve their objectives, he said.
The book introduces the schemes, their targeted beneficiaries and how they can avail of them, the official said, adding the book is also being sent to government departments, people''s representatives and gram pradhans so that people in the remotest parts of the state are aware of the schemes.
