Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has issued notification for admission in the course of PhD, MTech, M.Des. and MS (By Research) courses on Monday. The online application process has started.
Interested candidates can apply online before 12 pm on April 5. The application fee for general and OBC candidates is Rs 400 and for SC-ST, PWD candidates -- Rs 200 has been fixed. For more information, students can see notifications at iitk.ac.in.
From this time, for the economically weaker sections, 10% reservation has been implemented under the rule of the government. With the implementation of this reservation, the institute’s PhD and MTech’s 25 % seats have been increased. Enhanced seats will be admitted from the same session. The new session will start from July 24.
Subjects for PhD
Engineering: Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bio-Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Management Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Photonic Science and Engineering and Nuclear Engineering and Technology. PhD in Management Science, PhD can also do the course of these designs.
Sciences: Chemistry, Cognitive Sciences, Earth Sciences, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics
Humanities and Social Sciences: English (Literature, Linguists & ELT), Fine Arts, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology.
GATE Score
GATE score is mandatory for MTech. Students must have a guest score for admission in MTech. Apart from this, the graduation must have a minimum of 55% or more than 5.5% CPI.
