The students seeking admission in Delhi University (DU ) will have to score well to get admission in their interested stream as from this academic session(2014-15) the University is working on a proposed plan to restrict their applications only to 10 colleges and Six course.
This may not be a good news for the admission seekers but the university has geared up to prevent chaos during admission time.
The applicants will also not be permitted to change their preferred colleges more than once. The University is working on this proposal that is likely to be implemented from this session to limit the chaos that occurred during admission last year.
Talking to Times of India, DU administration has also said that it would not allow any college to enroll students more then their allotted strengths. These changes were proposed by a committee which was set up last year to get rid from this chaos to improve admission facility.
"The Committee has also recommended that students coming in from other streams have a 2% higher cut off" a committee member said . Last year the admission seekers could take admission in any of college of their own interest as their scores were higher than the cutoff.
A south Delhi College Principal who was in this committee talking to Times of India said that "The proposed changes will be considered by the university administration soon".
He also stated that " The university is working on this plan although the online and Offline centralized application process will stay".
This proposal is limited to number of applications and changes in colleges.
