Delhi government has decided to run five of the schools that have more than 50 students, in double shifts. The decision was taken by Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia. According to the proposed plan, schools in Ambedkar Nagar, Sunder Nagri, Peeraghari Village, Amalwas Jwalapuri and Bindapur will be run in double shifts.
The five government schools, which will run in double shifts, are SBV, sector-4(Ambedkar Nagar), G Co-ed SSS (Sundar Nagri), S Co-ed (Peeragarhi Village), GBSSS (Amalwas Jwalapuri) and G Co-ed SSS (Bindapur). Government has provided all basic infrastructure for double shifts in these five schools.
Delhi has around 946 govenment schools with lakhs of students studying. The government expressed that it would also create 8000 new classrooms so that students get quality education.
