Constituted in 1921, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamika Shiksha Parishad, one of the largest educational organizations with its headquarters at Allahabad, conducts the class X and XII exam in February/ March every year. On average, 30 lakh students appear annually for the 10th examination and around 25 lakh students appear for the 12th examination. This year, the combined figures were 67 lakhs. However, around 10 lakh students stepped down after a massive crackdown by authorities on cheating cases and the final figure came down to 57 lakhs including over 27 lakhs appearing in the 12th exam and now these students are waiting for the UP Board intermediate result 2018. 

Up and Downs of the UP Board Intermediate Result
The UP Board result intermediate has been experiencing its ups and downs. The overall pass percentage saw an upward climb during 2014 -2016 with increments registered every year. However, the percentage saw a downfall during the year 2017 when it declined by 5%.  It was also seen from the results that the girls overtook the boys in pass percentage in 2013 and 2017 whereas the boys fared better in 2016. The total number of students appearing in the 12th standard also fluctuated consistently and it was an all-time-low in 2017 with 26.24 lakh students appearing in the exam. 

A Statistical Overview of the UP Board Intermediate  Result
A look at the statistics on the UP Board intermediate result indicates the following facts.

Overall 26,95,749 students appeared in the class 12 exam held by the UP Board in 2013. 

The scenario changed in 2014 when out of 31,27,000 candidates the pass percentage for girls was 74.12 and for boys was 79.67. 

During 2015, the percentage of passed girls was 78.55 and that of boys was 83.40. Overall 29.34.768 students appeared in the exams.  

During 2016, 30,71,892 students appeared in the exam which was highest all time and the percentage of passed out girls and boys were 82.23 and 87.99 respectively. 

Finally, the intermediate result UP in 2017 saw the all-time lowest number of examines at 26,24,681 appearing in the exams and the percentage of girls passing out overtook that of the boys with 88.80% as against 77.16%. 

This year, the number of candidates in the examination has increased to over 27 lakhs. However, the pass outs and percentage of girls and boys coming up successful will only come to light after the UP Board result 2018 intermediate is declared. The expected date of publication of result is April 15, 2018.
