Amid the COVID-19 outbreak and nationwide lockdown, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad postponed the checking of the UP Board 2020 answer scripts till April 02, 2020. The authority had also announced that the dates can be further extended on the basis of circumstances prevailing across the state. Earlier the Board had begun the evaluation process for Class X and XII answer sheets on March 16, 2020. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the government ordered to postponed the evaluation process. This year around 57.36 lakh candidates registered for the examinations of UP Board for class 10th and 12th. While more than 55 lakh students have appeared for the examination.
For Class 10, around 32,08,451 students registered for the exam out of which 2,09,383 left the examination on the other hand for class 12 around 25,27,664 candidates registered out of which 54,367 left the examination in first two days. Over 4,68,804 students left the UP Board Examination due to strictness on copying, this year. Last year more than 50 lakh students appeared for the examination for Class 10 and 12. 80% of students cleared the exam for 10th and 70 % of students cleared for 12th. Gautam Raghuvanshi from Kanpur topped UP Board 10th Exam by 97.1% marks and Tanu Tomar from Bagpat topped the UP Board 12th Exam by 98% Marks.
