NEET UG 2023 Result Tie-Breaking Policy: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to release the result of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG 2023) on Tuesday, June 13. In addition to altering the exam pattern, NTA has also implemented a revised tie-breaking rule this year.


NEET UG 2023 Result Tie-Breaking Policy: Important Details

Unlike previous years, when age and application number were included in the criteria for the NEET tie-breaking policy, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has removed them this year. It is also important to note that for the NEET UG 2023 entrance exam result, if two or more students obtain the same NEET score or percentile score, NTA will follow a tie-breaking method to determine merit.
 

Order of Merit for NEET UG 2023 Result Tie-Breaking:

  1. Candidates who have obtained higher marks/percentile scores in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be given first preference.
  2. If the tie persists, candidates with higher marks/percentile scores in Chemistry will be given the next preference.
  3. Subsequently, candidates who have secured higher marks/percentile scores in Physics will be preferred.
  4. If the tie still remains unresolved, the candidate with a lower proportion of attempted incorrect answers and a higher proportion of attempted correct answers in all subjects will be given priority.
  5. Candidates with a lower proportion of attempted incorrect answers and a higher proportion of attempted correct answers, specifically in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be preferred.
  6. If the tie remains unresolved, the candidate with a lower proportion of attempted incorrect answers and a higher proportion of attempted correct answers in Chemistry will secure the rank.
  7. Lastly, candidates with a lower proportion of attempted incorrect answers and a higher proportion of attempted correct answers in Physics will be considered.

This year, the NEET 2023 exam was held on May 7th, accommodating a staggering 20,87,449 candidates across 4,097 different centers located in 499 cities.
