Step 3: Read the instructions and apply accordingly.
Qualification
Candidate must have Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.
Age
Must not be less than 18 (eighteen) years and not more than 39 (thirty nine) years on the 01.01.2018 and upper age-limit shall be relaxable in respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes or the Other Backward Classes (Group A or Group B) or other reserved category, if any, as per the extant rules of the Government.
Important points
All the degrees/diplomas/certificates mentioned in the advertisement must have been obtained from recognized Universities/Institutions.
One of the main functions of the commission is to conduct examinations and interviews for appointment to various services of the State.
The Commission may fix qualifying cut-off marks for all the categories of the vacancies in each level of examination, i.e. written, interview and aggregate. In the case of written test, candidates suffering from blindness or low vision will be allowed the help of a scribe, if required. The scribe should not possess educational qualification higher than the requisite qualification for the post.
Syllabus and scheme for examination
The examination shall be conducted in two parts:
PART-I: The syllabus and scheme for such examination shall be framed by the Commission in consultation with the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal.
PART-II: Candidates will be called to PART-II (Personality Test) on the basis of the ranks in PART-I Examination. The Personality Test will be conducted by the Commission.
Final Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in PART-I & PART-II.

PSCWB is the state agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination for entry-level appointments to the various Civil Services of state of West Bengal in India. The WBPSC office is situate at Mudiali, Tollygunge area, Kolkata.
Note:
Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali is an essential qualification for recruitment to the post mentioned below. Provided that the said compulsory requirement of knowledge in Bengali is not applicable for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali unless mentioned otherwise against any particular post(s). This will be tested at the time of interview.
Submission of more than one application for one particular post is strictly forbidden. The candidature of the candidate, who submits more than one application for admission to the selection procedure, will be cancelled even if he/she is admitted to the same.
