UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has has released the notification for UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) 2.
The registration process has been initiated for today, 15 May onwards and candidates can submit their applications for the Combined Defence Services Examination 2 (CDS) through the official website at upsc.gov.in.
According to the official notice the UPSC CDS registration window will remain active till 4 June, 2024 ( at around 6 PM). While the application correction window will open from 5 - 11 June, 2024.
UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2024: Important details
- Exam Date: 1 September, 2024
- Purpose: Admission to 459 vacancies in various courses at Indian military institutes.
- Admit Card Issuance: Eligible candidates will receive an e-Admit Card on the last working day of the preceding week before the exam date.
- Commencement of Courses: July 2025.
UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2024: Application fee
- General and OBC Male Candidates: Rs 200
- Female/SC/ST Candidates: Exempt from payment of any fees.
UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2024: Vacancy details
- Indian Military Academy, Dehradun: 100 vacancies
- Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala: 32 vacancies
- Air Force Academy, Hyderabad: 32 vacancies
- Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) 122nd SSC (Men) (NT): 276 vacancies
- Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) 36th SSC Women (NT): 19 vacancies
- TOTAL: 459 vacancies
UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2024: Age limit
- For Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born between July 2, 2001, and July 1, 2006, are eligible.
- For Air Force Academy: Age should be between 20 to 24 years as of July 1, 2025.
- For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for men): Unmarried male candidates born between July 2, 2000, and July 1, 2006, are eligible.
- For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course): Unmarried women, issueless widows, and issueless divorcees (with divorce documents) born between July 2, 2000, and July 1, 2006, are eligible.
UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2024: Educational qualification
- For Indian Military Academy (I.M.A.) and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai: Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
- For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
- For Air Force Academy: Degree from a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level, or Bachelor of Engineering.
UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2024: Application process
- Firstly, visit the official website at upsconline.nic.in.
- Then, click ‘One-time registration (OTR) for examinations of UPSC and online application’, on the homepage.
- Now, click on apply link and fill Part 1 registration form, upload your documents and pay application fee.
- Next, choose your exam centre and submit.
- Download and take a printout for future reference.
