SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened the SSC stenographer recruitment registration window 2024 today, 27 July for approximately 2,006 vacancies. Eligible candidates with stenography skills can apply for the vacancies by visiting the official website at ssc.gov.in. The SSC stenographer exam is expected to take place in October-November.
The deadline to apply for the SSC Stenographer exam is August 17 at 11 PM. The online portal for paying the registration fee will close at 11 PM on August 18. Additionally, the window for making corrections to the submitted application form will open on August 27.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Exam details
- The Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted for the recruitment of:
- Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted)
- Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’)
- Recruitment will be for various ministries, departments, and organizations, including:
- Attached offices
- Subordinate offices
- Statutory bodies of the Government of India
- Positions are available in multiple states and Union Territories.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Registration fee
- Applicants are required to pay a registration fee of Rs 100.
- Exemptions from the fee are provided for:
- Female candidates
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe (ST)
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
- Ex-servicemen (ESM)
SSC Stenographer Exam 2024: How to apply?
- Candidates must generate their One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website, ssc.gov.in, as the old website, ssc.nic.in, is no longer functional.
- After completing the OTR, candidates should proceed to fill out the application for the examination. Once generated, the OTR will remain valid for all examinations applied for on the new website.
- While filling out the application, candidates need to upload a scanned image of their signature in either JPEG or JPG format. The file size must be between 10 to 20 KB.
- The signature image dimensions should be approximately 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).
- Applications with inappropriate, blurred, miniature photographs, or signatures that do not meet the specified requirements will be rejected immediately.
