The revised dates for the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2020 is likely to be announced tomorrow i.e. May 20, 2020, by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
A notification issued earlier by the UPSC stated that the situation will be reviewed again on May 20, 2020, and fresh dates for these examinations shall be notified on the UPSC website in due course.
Earlier, the UPSC Civil Services 2020 prelims exam was scheduled to be conducted on May 31, 2020. However, in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, it was postponed.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) selects candidates for Civil Services through a preliminary exam and the main exam. While the preliminary exam is a written test, the main exam comprises a written test and an interview round.
Over 10 lakh candidates register for the Civil Services preliminary exam every year.
UPSC will issue admit cards to candidates after the exam dates are fixed.
