The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 now will be held in eight languages- English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu for the academic year 2017-18.
The candidate qualifying NEET will also be eligible for all India quota and other quotas coming under the state governments irrespective of the language in which they have appeared in. The statement was issued by Union Health Ministry.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda held a meeting with the Health Ministers and Health Secretaries of 18 states/Union Territories in may this year.
Joint Secretary, Medical Education said, " The collaborative efforts of Central Health Ministry with the state health ministers have lead to this decision to bring parity for the students who have taken the State Board examinations."
