The application process for GATE 2020 Exam is concluding on September 26, 2019, by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The candidates can apply by visiting the official website, gate.iitd.ac.in.

The GATE 2020 application process began on September 03, 2019 and will conclude today, September 26, 2019.

Earlier on July 9, The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi has released the schedule for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020.

The examination of GATE 2020 has been scheduled to be held on February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2020.
The examination will be conducted into two shifts first shift-from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and second shift- from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

GATE 2020 Registration: How to Apply?

Step 1: Visit the official site of GATE IIT D on gate.iitd.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the GATE 2020 online application link available on the home page.

Step 3: A new page will open where candidates will have to log in to the account by entering the enrollment ID and password and click on submit.

Step 4: Now fill in the details i.e., the exam details- choice of subject for GATE 2020, personal details, qualifying degree details.

Step 5: Upload the scanned copy of the necessary documents. The scanned copy should have specified size and format, candidate’s photograph, signature, and other eligibility documents or certificates.

Step 6: Review and verify the application form that has been filled and then press submit and proceed to the payment button.

Step 7: Candidates will now have to select the mode of payment- Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking/ UPI and make the payment.

Step 8: After the payment is completed, candidates will now be redirected towards the application form that should be printed for further need.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee).

GATE is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission to Master's programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture, and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science, in institutions supported by the MHRD and other Government agencies. Even in some colleges and institutions, which admit students without MHRD scholarship/assistantship, the GATE qualification is mandatory.

GATE 2020: Exam Pattern

The GATE examination will now be conducted on 25 subjects including Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Architecture and Planning, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering among other subjects.

GATE 2020: Syllabus

General  Aptitude, GA (common to all papers)
Verbal Ability: English grammar, sentence completion, verbal analogies, word groups, instructions, critical reasoning and verbal deduction.
Numerical Ability: Numerical computation, numerical estimation, numerical reasoning and data interpretation.
