CUET UG 2023: Exam Syllabus Update
Professor M. Jagadesh Kumar, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), has announced that the CUET UG-2023 for undergraduate admission will feature questions exclusively from the NCERT syllabus of Class 12. Students are advised to continue their preparation based on this syllabus, as the papers will be prepared accordingly. Taking into account the technical issues faced by students at examination centers last year, additional personnel will be deployed this time, along with backup computers.
CUET UG 2023: 41% More Applications than Last Year
The UGC Chairman stated that the purpose for which CUET UG was initiated, the country's second-largest national entrance examination, is being fulfilled. Students from remote and rural areas, as well as those from various state education boards, are now able to secure admission to major universities based on the merit of CUET UG. There has been a 41% increase in registrations for CUET UG 2023 compared to last year, indicating the students' preferences. Previously, admission to prestigious universities required obtaining 98 to 100 percent marks in the 12th board examination. However, there is no longer a need to be concerned about 12th class marks, as admission to undergraduate programs will be based on the merit of CUET UG and JEE Main in Engineering.
CUET UG 2023: 13 Indian Languages Including English and Hindi
The medium of instruction for CUET UG is English and 13 Indian languages, including Hindi. Language is no longer a barrier in higher education, as students from government schools are also gaining admission to prestigious universities. As a result, campus diversity is increasing, providing students with exposure to different states, cultures, languages, attire, festivals, and cuisine. The number of universities is steadily growing, which is a testament to this progress. The increase in both the number of participating universities and the number of registered students for the exam this year reflects this positive trend.
CUET UG 2023: Prepare Better than Last Year
Better arrangements and preparations are being made for CUET UG 2023 to benefit the students. Firstly, the number of exam days has been reduced. Previously, CUET UG was conducted in two phases. However, this time, it will be organized in three shifts from May 21st to May 31st, covering a span of 10 days. The examination centres across the country have been identified, and the infrastructure for conducting the test has been thoroughly examined. Surprise inspections are being carried out at the examination centres to ensure the functionality of computers, thereby preventing any issues for the students during the examination. Additional capacity is being arranged at each centre to promptly provide a backup computer to any student facing technical faults.
