Gujarat board
The CBSE board has recently reduced the syllabus for Class 9 to 12 by the Human Resource Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhariyal.

The syllabus for class 9 to 12 has been reduced by 30 percent. Working with the same opinion, the Gujarat government has directed the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) to reduce the syllabus for the students.

“Instructions have been passed on to the Board to begin work on syllabus reduction. Suggestions from the subject experts would be sought after which the decision would be taken on what is to be left and what is to be retained”, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama informed.

The Board is retaining only what is essential for the students in the next class specifically.

The chairman of the Board said, “A decision in consultation with the state government over the revised course will be soon taken. While unburdening students from the curriculum that can be afforded to be dropped, rationalisation of the syllabus has to be done keeping in mind that these are the same students who are going to sit for national entrance examinations in the coming months. So, our effort will be to ensure that students do not miss out on anything which is important.”

The changes are most likely to be informed to the students and the teaching staff within a week. One webinar for the syllabus has already been conducted on July 6, 2020.
