WBSSC Teacher Recruitment 2024: The West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC), following the Calcutta High Court order has released the merit list including over 14,000 names of candidates for the recruitment of teachers at the Upper Primary Level today, 26th September (Wednesday). Siddhartha Majumdar (Chairman, SSC) informed that the WBSSC teacher recruitment counselling process for the selected candidates will begin on or before 9 October (before Durga Puja).
The interview list for the aspirants who appeared for the State Level Selection Test (SLST 2016), carried out by the SSC, to recruit teachers in Upper Primary Level schools, was published on 24 August 24, 2019. While the merit list for the same was released on 4th of October, 2019. Additionally, the SLST selection process also faced some legal challenges over deformity before the Calcutta high court, which in return had invalidated the entire recruitment process and at last the SSC was instructed to review the entire mechanism, inorder to follow new rules.
WBSSC Teacher Recruitment Court Orders & Vacancy List: Key Points
- A single bench order was contend, which lead to a fill of 36 appeals before a division bench.
- Following the court's rule, SSC published a latest interview list (June 2021), having 14,339 vacancies excluding those for the para-teachers.
- Candidates who were unsatisfied approached to court, which lead to an order on 28 August, stating the SSC to publish the merit list in 4 weeks time.
- Later, SSC released the merit list with 14,052 names on specified date.
