UGC Establishes a Cell to Handle Student Grievances, Asks Varsities to Give Highest Priority to Health
UGC - PC : Self
A cell for handling grievances of the students has been established by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

A week before the UGC released the guidelines and calendar for all universities.

The commission has launched a helpline number and email for students where they can lodge their grievances related to examinations and other academic activities due to this pandemic.

The students can also lodge their grievances on the existing online students' Grievance Redressal Portal of UGC other than this.

A tweet was posted regarding the same.

The tweet said "UGC issues Public Notice on Redressal of Grievances related to #COVID-19 Pandemic. Helpline number:-011-23236374, e-mail:-covid19help.ugc@gmail.com".

The grievances redressal cell has been established to monitor the queries, grievances, and other academic matters of students, teachers, and institutions arising due to the COVID19 pandemic.
The Commission has also constituted a Task Force to monitor concerns,/ grievances of students, teachers, and institutions, and redress them accordingly.

Also, all the universities and colleges have been asked by the UGC to upload a copy of the public notice on their official websites and also share it with the teaching and student community via email and other digital media for students and teachers.

All universities were asked to "give the highest priority to the health of all concerned" and follow the UGC guidelines on examinations and the academic calendar provided by UGC on April 29 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
