National Award to Teachers 2023: Registration is currently open for the National Award to Teachers 2023, presented by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This award aims to recognise the outstanding contributions of teachers in India, whose tireless efforts have not only enhanced the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students. The last date to apply for this prestigious award is July 15, 2023.
National Award to Teachers 2023: Important Details
For the National Teacher Award, teachers will need to submit applications with photos, audio, and video showcasing their work in enhancing the quality of school education and improving student life. To register, visit nationalawardstoteachers.education.gov.in.
Additionally, teachers must include all necessary documents, field visit reports, photographs, audio, or video materials when applying. The hard copy of the application must be submitted to the office by July 15th. The inclusion of teachers from private schools for this year's award may increase the number of applicants.
For further assistance or information regarding the application process, teachers can seek guidance from their respective District School Inspector's Office. After reviewing the applications at the district and divisional levels, the list of teachers will be sent to the state-level committee by July 25th. Between July 26th and August 3rd, the State Level Committee will evaluate the applications and update the names of the selected teachers on the Centre's portal. Interviews with teachers will be conducted on August 4th and 5th, and the final list of awardees will be released on August 14, 2023.

- Dates for calling shortlisted candidates for presentation before the National Jury: August 4, 2023, and August 5, 2023
- Finalization of names by the Independent National Jury: August 14, 2023

- Rehearsals and Awards Ceremony: September 4, 2023, and September 5, 2023
National Award to Teachers 2023: Eligibility Criteria
- School teachers and heads of institutions who have served for a minimum of 10 years and are currently employed in recognized primary, middle, high, or higher secondary schools are eligible for the award.
- Teachers who retired this year but were on active duty until at least April 30, 2023, may also be considered for the award.
- Registered teacher candidates should not be engaged in tuition work.
- Educational administrators, education inspectors, employees of training institutions, contractual teachers, and Shiksha Mitras are not eligible for the award.
