Karnataka CM: Today, on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, the Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has announced on X (twitter), that all the government residential schools in Karnataka will now be renamed as Maharishi Valmiki Residential Schools. Even, the Raichur University will be renamed as Maharishi Valmiki University. 

This announcement was made as a part of the celebration in the honour of Maharishi Valmiki ji, who was a scared sage and author of one of the greatest Indian epics, The Ramayana. 

Therefore, the decision of renaming all the institutions has been made to pay a tribute to Valmiki Ji's irreplacable contributions to the fine Indian literature, culture and art.  
   
"All government residential schools in Karnataka will be renamed as Maharishi Valmiki Residential Schools. Raichur University will be renamed as Maharishi Valmiki University, " says Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah.
