UGC Chairman M. Jagdish Kumar states, "It is time for re-admission across universities in the country. For central universities, we use CUET scores for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The UGC has sent a standard operating procedure on how to use them. CUET scores are used for admission to various programs so that there are no vacant seats at the end of the admission process."
He further added, "When you are admitted in the first, second, and third rounds using the CUET scores and notice that there are some vacant seats in the programs, the UGC has advised universities to grant exemptions in the subject criteria of CUET to fill these seats. Even after this effort, if there are still vacant seats in some programs, the universities can conduct their own entrance exams at the university level and admit students to ensure that all seats in each program at your university are filled."
Kumar concluded, "We should not leave any seats vacant. Every seat in our universities is valuable. Universities should make every effort to ensure that students are admitted to your university so that no seat remains vacant."
