Addressing a Covid-19 review meeting held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 to review the Covid-19 situation in the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the authorities to ensure separate arrangements for Covid-positive candidates about to appear for UPTET 2021 Exam. Adding to his statements, he stated that another incident of UPTET Paper leak will not be tolerated and instructed the authorities to maintain fairness in the conduct of the UPTET Exam.
Notably, the UPTET Exam has been scheduled for January 23, 2022. CM Adityanath had earlier issued Covid-19 guidelines to be followed during the course of UPTET Exam 2021. Issuing instructions, CM Adityanath said, "All the necessary arrangements must be made for smoothly conducting the Uttar Pradesh Teachers' Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021 on January 23. If any candidate who has contracted Covid-19 is willing to appear for the examination, a separate room should be arranged for him/her."
Post this, CM Adityanath emphasized the officials regarding malpractices and discrepancies in the exam. After issuing orders on the same, he tweeted, "Any kind of incident similar to paper leak will not be tolerated. If any such incident occurs, the district magistrate, education officer and the in-charge of the examination centres shall be held accountable."
On January 17, 2021, CM Adityanath had issued Covid-19 guidelines for the safe conduct of UPTET 2021 and had said, "Refer to the past record of the institute before allocating the examination centre. Do not make institutions with a suspicious/tainted image as an examination centre."
It is noteworthy that the UPTET Exam 2021 was slated to be held in November 2021, which had to be shelved as the examination question paper had leaked. The question paper was also being circulated on certain WhatsApp groups active in districts like Mathura, Bulandshahr and Ghaziabad.
