Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been the most favourite politician. Everyone wanted to hear him as all of his speeches were truly convincing. Let's recall his words of wisdom on his first Death Anniversary today.

His speech in this house became immortal. That speech on May 31, 1996, when Vajpayee became Prime Minister and a no-confidence motion were brought against his government, he himself had said that the strength of the party in the House had reduced and submitted his resignation to the President.

The speech he gave during that time is still considered one of the best speeches in politics. Along with this, everyone should take inspiration from the things Atal Ji has said about opposition parties, journalists etc.

He had his political principles, he once said, 'I have been a member of this House for 40 years, the members have seen my behaviour, seen my conduct, but if power comes in hand by breaking the party and forming a new coalition for power, then I will give such power I would not like to touch with tongs.

Regarding the struggle of the party, he had said, '40 years of sadhana is behind our efforts, it is not a casual mandate, no miracle has happened, we have worked hard, we have gone among people, we have struggled, this party is a 365-day party.

Vajpayee, who started his career in journalism, had a very simple attitude towards journalists. He once told reporters-

'I wanted to be a journalist, became a Prime Minister, nowadays journalists are making my condition worse’, he added ‘I don't mind, because I've done it before’.
Be parties or deteriorate, but the country should not deteriorate

Vajpayee believed that parties should be formed or destroyed but the country should not deteriorate. There should be a system of a healthy democracy in the country-
Whenever the need arises, we have helped the government of that time in addressing the crisis, the then Prime Minister Narasimha Rao sent me to Geneva as an opposing party. Pakistanis were surprised to see me.

They were wondering where he came from. Because the leader of the opposition party here is not ready to cooperate in national work. He is working everywhere to topple his government, it is not our nature, and it is not our tradition.

I want this tradition to be maintained, this nature should be maintained, governments will come, parties will be formed - it will deteriorate but this country should remain. democracy of this country should remain immortal.
